NGAN LEGAL ADVOCACY FUND

MISSION

To strive for a system that fulfills its promise of justice to all people regardless of race, gender, or economic status.

VISION

Equal access to justice and civil rights.

In 2015 NGAN created the Legal Advocacy Fund to focus on legal needs for marginalized communities locally and nationally in America.

If you get arrested or the police visit or call you because of the protests, please contact NGAN Legal Advocacy Fund Jail Hotline at Legal@thengan.com. We will support you through the legal process. Don’t talk to the police, especially without legal representation or support. Don’t share pictures of protestors with identifying information (including visible faces).

NGAN Legal Advocacy Fund has provided ongoing legal support to protesters in Dallas since 2014,  NGAN Legal Advocacy Fund works in connection with the ACLU, Civil Rights Corps, and other Dallas-based organizations.

NGAN Legal Advocacy Fund's first case was after Crystal Mason was sentence to 5 years in prison for so-called voter fraud we provide her first 2 attorney's and the ACLU and Texas Civil Rights Project join our fight to keep Crystal free from prison.

The legal process can take a tremendous amount of time. Most cases take 6 months to a year to be resolved and some cases can take up to two years. For this reason,  disbursements and reporting will be ongoing possibly up to two years from now depending on people’s charges and cases. We will be continually updating information regarding these expenditures as money is used to bail people out and support peoples’ legal cases.

These reports will be available through GoFundMe updates and publicly published online. Because we have access to limited funds, our first focus is freeing vulnerable protestors (including those at high risk of contracting COVID-19 while incarcerated, members of marginalized communities, and those without stable housing.  As the number of reported arrests rises and the severity of the charges has increased.

The funds will be used to pay for bail, legal fees, and fines, lawyers, discovery, investigations, personal material support, and any other financial needs that arise during the legal process.

In addition to financial support, we’ll be asking for community members to attend hearings and participate in the defense of our comrades. Subscribe on Twitter or Facebook to receive updates as the legal process proceeds.
